Christmas Cookies With Italian Flair

Every year for Christmas I love to prepare cookies for my friends. This is my personal way to wish them a ‘Merry Christmas’. Without any doubt the most exciting part is searching for the perfect recipe and box decoration.

This year I've found this amazing recipe to make chocolate biscuits crisp and extremely fragrant. To make them more fun I've prepared them with button shapes using one of them to decorate the plastic bag containter. I really hope you enjoy this project.

Chocolate Biscuits

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Ready in: 2 hours

400 g of flour

125 g of butter

125 g of sugar

2 eggs

1 Tsbp. of baking powder

A pinch of salt

A pinch of vanilla

Work the butter with sugar until creamy and frothy white, gradually add the eggs beaten lightly.

Sift the flour, vanilla, salt and baking powder and 4 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa and incorporate them in the cream. Mix (even in a blender) until you can form smooth balls. Let them rest in the fridge wrapped for half an hour.

Roll it out with a rolling pin and cut out rounded shapes adding 4 holes in each of them as in the image below.

Put your biscuits in the oven for 20 minutes at 180 degrees.

Once they are ready and cooled you can put them in a plastic bag. To decorate it I cut a paper with a tree shape and wrote on it, ‘Merry Christmas’. I used one of the buiscuits and some ribbon to close the bag. This is the result; do you like it?
