How to Fix a Broken Eyeshadow

It’s always exciting when you buy a palette of this season’s hottest colors. And, when you inevitably drop one of the palettes, it’s equally depressing when it breaks or cracks. Before you break down in tears, know that there is a solution. All you’ll need is some rubbing alcohol, a spoon, tissue, a resealable plastic bag, and of course, that poor little broken eyeshadow.

Step 1: Place your broken shadow inside the plastic bag. Slide it all the way down into a bottom corner, and seal the bag.

Step 2: Using the back of your spoon, gently crush the palette into a grounded mixture inside the bag.

Step 3: Carefully remove the crushed shadow from inside the plastic bag with your spoon and form it back into the palette.

Step 4: Apply 3-4 drops of rubbing alcohol directly onto the crushed shadow. You may need more depending on the size of the product.

Step 5: Pour two more drops of rubbing alcohol onto your tissue.

Step 6: Lay the damp tissue flat over the crushed shadow and press directly down onto the palette using the back side of your spoon. Make sure all loose pieces are tightly compacted once again.

Step 7: After the shadow is pressed into one solid piece, allow the alcohol to evaporate.

Once dry, you will be left with a like-new eyeshadow once again.
