On June 24th, E! Network will roll out a brand new reality television show examining the results of plastic surgery procedures gone wrong, and the process of reversing their “Botched” effects. The series will follow two plastic surgeons, Dr. Terry Dubrow and Dr. Paul Nassif, as they work their magic to turn each surgical misfortune into a desirable outcome. Viewers can expect to be included every step of the way, throughout the progression of each patient before, during, and after their procedures.

Dr. Peter Geldner, Chicago Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, weighs in on the series, “The show’s primary intention is to entertain, but it’s unfortunate the topic of failed plastic surgery can be its own show. For those considering plastic surgery, there are some serious lessons that can be learned from the show’s examples.”

“Viewers should be aware that for one, the patients on the ‘Botched’ show are the ultimate extremes. Many of them have undergone multiple previous surgeries,” Dr. Geldner continues. “The possibility of a negative outcome is associated with any medical procedure, whether it be plastic surgery or not. It is imperative to do your research beforehand to make certain that your surgeon is board-certified, accredited, and highly recommended to reduce the likelihood that your surgery go poorly in the first place.”

A nationally recognized expert in plastic and cosmetic surgery, Dr. Peter Geldner is one of Chicago’s premier plastic surgeons and founder of The Geldner Center in Chicago and Hinsdale, IL.  Dr. Geldner has appeared in numerous publications and media outlets, including: ABC, Fox News, NBC, WGN, Chicago Magazine, Chicago Social, Chicago Tribune, Life & Style Weekly, The Learning Channel, The Jenny Jones Show, and Larry King Live Radio.
