Matching nail and toe polish is always a classic look, but this summer change it up with a bright toe color paired with French nails.
Finding eforea in Red Rock Country
The New Year isn’t a just time of change and renewal for people everywhere; it can often be the beginning of a new awakening for many businesses as well. This year, 2012 will bring a fresh look and philosophy to a select number of Hilton Resort & Spa properties throughout the world with the opening of their new eforea: spa at Hilton facilities.
The Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa is only the second property in the U.S. that will unveil the new spa concept (the first opened in October 2010 at Hilton Short Hills in New Jersey), which includes both signature spa treatments and region-specific offerings that reflect the vibe and ingredients indigenous to that location. Anyone familiar with the alleged metaphysical properties of Sedona’s red rocks will appreciate how revolutionary it is for a mainstream brand to allow this town’s unconventional local beliefs to infiltrate and influence the experiences of its clientele. It is nothing short of inspired.
The Sedona property even went as far as hiring an integrative and intuitive healing counselor (with an impressive marketing background to boot) to be their new Spa Director. Ginni Selle came on board with the Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa late last year, and is in many ways the perfect fit for the job. “We use a holographic model here,” she says. “If there’s something not working in one area, it affects the whole.” Selle works with individuals to help solve their internal issues and keeps the entire company running smoothly, which is essential to the eforea: spa at Hilton principle. According to Selle, “The eforea name and concept is about evoking a sense of peace and calm from guests in a transformational way.” Each eforea: spa at Hilton will feature “an exclusive menu of customizable treatment journeys that integrate global elements, best practices and rituals from Europe, Asia and Africa… paired with formulations by the world’s foremost spa experts such as Kerstin Florian, Li’Tya, and VitaMan.” These “journeys” guests can take were designed to encourage a spiritual transformation where they will ideally emerge re-energized and in brighter spirits. Selle is even looking into acquiring an aura camera, said to capture the energy emanating from a person, for some unique (to say the least) before and after photos of spa clients.
There are three signature packages guests will be able to choose from when visiting any eforea spa; each includes a series of different treatments. The Essentials Journey offers “powerful, technologically advanced treatments” like the Signature Correcting Facial featuring Microcurrent technology, Jet Lag Body Remedy, and Advanced AHA Anti-Aging Body Treatment, while the Escape Journey is “a set of holistic experiences that integrate nourishing organic plant ingredients and traditional healing practices.” Signature treatments for this one include a Melt Away Tension Facial, Rest & Restore Body Wrap, and Meditation Massage. They even offer a Men’s Journey, “a collection of problem-solving, re-energizing experiences designed specifically for men,” which involves a De-Stress Face Treatment, All-Over Detox, and Realigning Sports Massage.
In addition to these signature journeys, guests at the Sedona eforea: spa at Hilton will also be able to opt for something a bit more daring from the Sedona Experiences menu. These treatments “use energy modalities and assorted techniques that are alternatives to traditional massage and bodywork practices to allow you to tap into a personalized, deeper healing journey.” The most intriguing to me by far is The Full Circle, inspired by indigenous spiritual views and incorporating aromatherapy and meditation to work on one aspect of the human experience (mind, body, heart or spirit) as represented by one of the four directions (North, South, East or West). Selle says the main goal behind the Sedona Experiences is to make energy medicine applicable and affordable.
InWithSkin visited the Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa in December to tour the facilities and chat with the new Spa Director. During the visit, I was also able to preview their Signature Three Part Recharge Massage that included a warm bamboo massage and relaxing full body massage, followed by a heavenly deep head/ scalp massage. My massage therapist, Deborah, was fantastic, and no detail was spared – from the cucumber-infused water offered to me at the beginning and end of my session to the ability to customize the warmth of my massage table for the most comfortable experience possible.
If you’re looking for a spa experience that is truly unlike any other, plan a trip to Red Rock Country for a little metaphysical TLC at the upcoming eforea: spa at Hilton, and let the healing energy of Sedona envelop you.
