Waterproof makeup is great for those beach and pool days, but remember to thoroughly cleanse your skin at the end of the day as these products can be thick and “cakey”.
Flawless Beauty Lesson Contest Enter to Win!
Flawless… that’s how people have been describing my makeup. Just before Christmas, I had a Flawless Beauty Lesson with Briana Dai at the Christi Harris Beauté Playground, http://www.christiharris.com, at the Premier Atelier Salon in Dallas. The lessons are Christi’s way of bringing her philosophy - “See it. Learn it. Do it.” - to life.
First, I learned all I could about skin theory, how your skin heals and how to protect and maintain healthy skin. This was great for me because protecting my skin was never something I cared about; I tanned for 15 years. We then developed the perfect customized cosmetics look for me based on my needs, which were: I don’t have a ton of time to spend putting on makeup, I need my cosmetics to last because often I go from day to night without much time for touch-ups, I need to be able to easily transition my look from day to night, I tend to like my makeup to look natural and I spray tan, so my skin color often changes. The best part of the lesson was that Briana did one side of my face and wrote directions for me in a workbook so that when she was done I could do the other side of my face. I had the notes to follow and Briana watched me and corrected anything I needed help with. That night I went out with some friends, one of whom was a makeup artist, and he couldn’t tell which side I had done – absolute proof that I had learned and could do it myself!
In the two hour lesson, not only did I learn skin theory and how to do a customized makeup look, I also got an advanced cosmetics course, which included contouring (Kim Kardashian is a pro at this), how to get rid of dark circles and puffiness (I have a lot of late nights followed by early mornings) and how to sculpt and lift with makeup (and no down time). She even let me try out the Christi Harris Volumizing Gel, a product I had been hearing about that is a dry shampoo. You simply flip your head over, spray it on your roots and blow dry, and you are left with crazy volume.
After Christmas, I scheduled a follow-up refresher lesson to get help with brow planing, a technique that I’m now using instead of waxing and an incredible tool Christi Harris has mastered. I lucked out because my makeup artist, Briana Dai, is the National Trainer and honestly, after my lesson with her I’ve been able to teach a few friends a thing or two.

Briana is amazing. She knows how to make YOU look beautiful wearing makeup, not the MAKEUP that looks beautiful. I would advise anyone to have her do your makeup before any event, I had so many compliments at the charity event I attended on how beautiful my face and skin looked. I can't rave enough about her and Christi Harris products, if you want caked on makeup that looks thrown on then go to your local department store and have one of those "other counters" try to sell you items you don't need. Once you meet with Briana you will not only look flawless, but you will leave with the knowledge and confidence to apply your makeup flawless everyday. I'm not trying to be cheesy when I say, it's honestly life changing. People will compliment you on how beautiful you are! xoxo, Mandi Ellis
