Hair Neglectors, Rejoice!
I can never seem to get myself to do my hair beyond the occasional application of texture enhancing products and (depending on how much wave I’m trying to achieve) some scrunching, followed by air drying – and if that doesn’t pan out, a looped ponytail or a half-assed bun. Fortunately for me, following New York Fashion Week has dissipated my guilt over exerting such minimal effort on behalf of my mane.
Many of the hairstyles gracing the runways this week were understated in order to avoid distracting from the clothing, featuring natural textures and embracing the occasional flyaway. So, whether you want to sport a messy chignon, a low ponytail or liberated tresses, all you’ll need on standby is some salt spray, a hair tie and some bobby pins.
If bed head doesn’t suit you, opt for some leave-in conditioner, a quick blow-dry and a part down the middle. Go easy on the flat iron – while the correction of that random spiral curl may seem necessary, the goal is to maintain a natural texture.
