La Dolce Vita at The Crescent

The iconic Rosewood Crescent Hotel and Spa in Dallas offers clients an unprecedented level of service while still creating a completely comfortable, unintimidating experience. Every detail is taken care of to ensure spa customers a carefree day of luxury.

I began my recent visit by talking with the Spa Director, Jennifer Haack, over a cup of tea in the Spa Café, which uses produce from local farms to make the delicious juices, smoothies and spa fare. I was happy to hear from Jennifer that the Crescent is very conscious about what they offer clients to put into and onto their bodies. The products they use in spa treatments have been developed and designed for immediate results and are healthy for your skin and body. There is also an emphasis on stirring up your senses, particularly the sense of smell.

Before embarking on a tour of the spa facilities, Jennifer told me about their signature treatment, the Drench Body Treatment, which is on every Rosewood Spa menu and includes products with ingredients and scents tailored to the region where the spa is located. It starts with a full body exfoliation and hydrating mask to relax you and ends with a massage with organic shea butter, natural oils and aromatherapy. At the Crescent, they use a vegan ginger scrub, though other noteworthy blends include San Miguel’s mole scrub (think rich and chocolately) and Vancouver’s Pacific sea salt scrub. The boutique in each spa also carries these signature products so you can continue to evoke memories of your relaxing experience long after your retreat has ended.

The locker room is staffed with multiple attendants who are there to offer anything you can conceive, and guests are encouraged to spend the entire day enjoying the amenities. After changing into a comfy robe and slippers, I enjoyed the sauna and then spent some time in the eucalyptus steam room, which actually helped clear up my allergies. When I walked out, there were iced towels strewn with rose petals waiting for me to freshen up with before hitting the hot tub and the cooler dip pool.

While waiting for my treatments, I was offered hot tea, citrus-infused water and a cup of freshly cut fruit. Jennifer was right; the Body Drench was creamy and delicious! Michelle, my masseuse, is an expert at performing this treatment. After a relaxing body scrub, I was treated to one of the best massages I’ve ever had. Michelle really paid attention to how my body responded, and made sure to tell me she would help me with my sinuses as well before the day was through.

Before performing my facial, the aesthetician asked me a few questions to ensure she chose the best treatment type and products for my skin. We decided on the Crescent Signature Facial, which revitalizes skin and restores its vitality with coffeeberry and oxygen applied directly to the face. When she was done, my skin felt clean and smooth.

Returning to the locker room, the extremely helpful and polite staff again offered me something to drink and a snack before escorting me to my locker. I had an event to attend that night and was delighted to find out that the meticulously maintained locker room was also well stocked with everything I needed – even a flat iron for my unruly hair!
