Sun can dry out and fade hair, so be sure to wear a hat or spray strands with a protective product.
Rain, Rain Go Away
Lately the rain has been coming down in buckets in my fair city. Thankfully, I have lived on the rainy West Coast for a long time (my whole life!) so I know a thing or two about dressing for stormy weather. Over the years, I have acquired a few tips that may come in handy if you are ever caught in a storm. You can thank me later. J
- Invest in a chic and well-made raincoat. Really, it does not even need to be a big investment though. I bought this one for $60 at H&M and it has served me well so far! I would also highly recommend going with a fun color like red, because on those rainy, grey days, you will appreciate a shot of bright color. Plus, I consider red a neutral and I think you should too!
- Bring an umbrella! I own one that is an adorable black and white print and keeps me nice and dry. (Though, I do have my eye on a lovely striped number that is much sturdier and I may need to make a swap.)
- Wearing rain boots is a definite bonus, which I opted out of when this photo was taken. To be fair, my plans for the day included lunch and shopping indoors, so my flats sufficed.
- Make a trip to your favorite coffee shop! I have learned that having a hot drink in one hand while you navigate the puddles can improve your day exponentially. My beverage of choice happens to be steamed apple juice, but if you’re into something a little more grown-up, than by all means, make your pick.
Do you ladies live in a rainy area like me? How do you get by? Any other tips you’d like to share?
