Skin Care Love Affair
It’s true. I have officially fallen in love with a skin care product. Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion has gotten me through harsh winters, blazing hot Arizona summers, and most recently, through an allergic reaction while traveling abroad in China.
On the third day of my trip, I mysteriously had an allergic reaction that caused me to break out in hives with itching and burning hands, arms, legs, and stomach. Although a number of things could have produced my sudden reaction, I had never experienced this before and started to panic.
Between not knowing what was going on and realizing I was in a country where I knew only three words in the local language, Mandarin, I was truly at a loss over what to do. I wanted to immediately jump in the shower but rather opted to slather on my Cetaphil in hopes it might sooth my skin.
After applying a coat of the moisturizing lotion and trying to relax, my skin was not only instantly soothed and no longer itchy, but my hives quickly disappeared as well.
After returning to the states, I have not had any further allergic reactions, but I have continued my love affair with Cetaphil and its intense moisturizing capability. It is my new go-to product for keeping my skin hydrated and alleviating the occasional weather-induced irritation.
